Katherine Madden is Manager of Capacity Building at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The WBCSD brings together some 200 international companies in a shared commitment to sustainable development through economic growth, ecological balance and social progress. The mission of the WBCSD is to provide business leadership as a catalyst for change toward sustainable development, and to support the business license to operate, innovate and grow in a world increasingly shaped by sustainable development issues.

In this role for the past five years, Katherine works with WBCSD members, Regional Network partners and other stakeholder groups to accelerate learning and uptake of sustainable development practices. This includes design and delivery of a full range of learning tools, individual company services on embedding sustainable development and strengthening the capabilities of today's and tomorrow's managers. With a background in CSR, education and international development, Katherine has lived and worked in Europe, Africa and Asia over the past 15 years. She was educated in the UK, holds a degree in human geography and is a trained facilitator.
